"the Amy Winehouse story inspired me to write my own songs"
Barbara Nádas aka NAREN started drumming at the age of six. As a teenager, she became the drummer and singer of Saxi Band, a girl sax band. At the same time she also won prestigious awards as a folk singer. At the age of fifteen she was invited to be the singer of Presso Band. They entertained the crowd at several events and wedding parties, where she gained experience and a solid knowledge of pop music. The band had a rock formation called Blues Archive, and she has been singing legendary blues and rock hits with them at various club gigs since 2013. She also impersonates Lambchops, a tomboyish rocker drummer in The Price of FAME, a piece launched by the Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre in 2015. She assumed the name NAREN when she wrote her first song. “It was my sorrows, my joys, and the Amy Winehouse story that inspired me to write my own songs and I wanted to find an international name to go by. It is NAREN and each and every letter in it spells out a different story.”
